This is a genuine Ammonite Fossil. Unfortunately not much else is known about this piece, but it sure does display nicely!

Ammonites are an extinct group of shelled cephalopods that were highly successful in their time. Ammonites were on Earth for about 343 million years (409-66 mya), and can be found on every continent. There are over 10,000 species of ammonite currently described, and many more remain to be discovered.
